Fr. Greg's Notes
Dear Friends,
Last week we talked about John the Baptist. This week I would like to talk about another important figure in our Christmas scene. She was a Jew and there’s more written about her in the Koran than in the Bible and for over two thousand years, this woman has inspired millions of people around the world to say, “Yes” to God even in difficult times.
Mary, the mother of our Lord. Mary, a constant a follower of Jesus. Mary was a disciple. She was at Pentecost. She was at the foot of the cross in the Gospel of John. What Mary is, we are called to be. As printed in the Little Blue Book, “The same Spirit that came upon Mary is coming upon us. As with Mary, the Spirit has come upon us for a purpose: To enable us to carry out our particular God-given role in helping to fulfill the divine plan.”
Let us look to Mary for inspiration in helping us carry out our role in God’s plan of salvation. What she is, we are called to be.
Peace,
Fr. Greg
