Excellent Children's, Youth and Adult Programs

Our Faith Formation Programs

“Love the Lord your God with all your soul and all your strength.

Never forget these commands that I am giving you today.

Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are home

and when you are away, when you are resting and when you are working.”

Deuteronomy 6:5-7

St. Genevieve's Parish offers Faith Formation programs for all ages from Preschool through Adult.

“Parents are the primary educators in the faith” (GDC 255) and with

this in mind we offer the following programs to supplement and

support our families as they seek to share the gift of faith with

their child(ren).

Children's Programs

  • Children will also have the opportunity to sing with our choir on certain Sundays.

                °  Saint celebrations and traditions

  • Second Grade Sacrament Preparation -  Preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist generally takes place in second grade.  This course work is woven into the second grade curriculum, however there is an at home parent/child component, parent classes, as well as parent/child retreats for both Reconciliation and Eucharist.  Registration is needed in the Faith Formation Program and be registered in the Parish.
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS) - a great fun filled week of Bible adventure - learning about God's great love for each and every one of us. It is a time for crafts, games, music, skits, contests. We generally have VBS the third week of June. Children excitedly look forward to VBS each summer.
  • Created in the Image of God - a component of all child and youth curriculum focusing on helping children understand their innate dignity - wonderfully created by God with the right to be treated with love and honor.  This comes out of the Protection of Children and Youth Initiative mandated by the Archdiocese and helps youth and their parents to be knowledgeable and aware of the world around them empowering them to respond appropriately and to create a safe and healthy environment.

Our hope is that your child will gain a better understanding of our Catholic faith and traditions in an active, nurturing, age appropriate environment. We are blessed to have committed volunteers who love children. We always welcome any parent who feels called to serve in this rewarding ministry. Training is provided with plenty of support staff, materials and well laid out lesson plans.
